Steve Kemp has been a resident of St. George for over 30 years. He graduated from Pine View High School in 1988 and Dixie State College in 1993. While at Dixie State College, Steve accepted the position of General Manager of the Budget 8 Motel. Under his supervision the lodging property experienced double digit revenue growth each year. During his years at the Motel, he served on the St. George Area Lodging Association Board. In 2003 Steve negotiated the consolidation of the Budget 8 Motel, Ltd. Partnership thus completing his work for that group.
In 1995 Steve began working with his father Gregory Kemp on the office and commercial holdings owned by his family. In 1997 he became a Utah real estate licensee and joined Holiday Resort Realty specializing in commercial properties and large land tracts.
In early 2000 Steve started Sherpa Management, Inc., a boutique property management firm, to manage properties leased to seven different divisions and departments of the State of Utah as well as the Southwest Utah Public Health Department. Steve recently negotiated and closed the sale of these properties to investment groups.
Steve joined Colliers International’s Southern Region office in 2001 and was subsequently named the 2002 Top Producer. In 2003 Steve and Graig Griffin began collaborating on large retail projects including Sunset Corner, Pineview Plaza, Commerce Pointe, and others. In May 2004 Steve Kemp and Graig Griffin combined Steve’s deep local knowledge and community ties with Graig’s national and international commercial real estate experience and contacts to form Kemp Griffin Commercial Real Estate.
Mr. Kemp is currently involved in several developments as a Broker and/or principal including: River Crossing Retail Center, Steam Engine Meadows at Brian Head, and The Shoppes at Snow Canyon.
As an agent, manager, and principal, Steve Kemp has been responsible for the completion of transactions valued in excess of 50,000,000. He is licensed in Utah.

Steve was responsible for all aspects of the disposition of this office complex leased to the State of Utah and others. Deal points included multiple levels of IRS Section 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchanges on SITLA leased land.

Mr. Kemp is in charge of selecting property in Southern Utah for purchase, completing the due diligence process, monitoring closing, and any entitlement work of development on those properties. Mr. Kemp is also a principal investor in every Landbaron deal in Southern Utah.
